Q. What does my friend or loved one actually get?
A. They'll receive a certificate, contained within a lovely gift card, telling them you've bought a Practical Present in their name. They'll also receive a special keepsake gift. The certificate has information and photographs (or diagrams) relating to the chosen gift, and shows how Practical Action's projects are helping to change poor people's lives overseas.

Q. When I buy a Practical Present, where does my money go?
A. Your donation will go towards funding the whole of Practical Action’s work, wherever the need is greatest, helping Practical Action create simple, pragmatic solutions to poverty together with local communities overseas. Every single item in this catalogue is used in Practical Action projects, so no matter what you choose you'll be helping to transform lives. ,

Q. Do you send the gift card, certificate and keepsake gift to me first, or directly to my friend or loved one?
A. It's up to you. Simply tell us your preference when you order.

Q. If I want them sent directly, can I still personalise the gift card?
A. Yes. Simply tell us the recipient's postal address and your personal message (up to 50 characters), and we'll do the rest. Please allow ten working days for delivery (and longer at Christmas or Easter). All gifts are posted 2nd class via Royal Mail.
